Early Childhood Programs

Whether your child is a baby, toddler, or preschooler, we have a music class for you!

The Music Class®

Newborn - 4 years

Singing, movement, rhythm instruments, scarves and playful props encourage children to experiment with music in their own ways.

Children observe others keeping beat and singing and are encouraged to join in whenever they are ready. Even the youngest children will benefit from listening to the wide variety of quality music from around the globe.

Babies, toddlers and preschoolers (and their caregivers) will enjoy these fun filled classes of singing, dancing, movement and instrument play designed to stimulate musical learning.

Your whole family will have a blast in class and at home with award-winning recordings and songbooks from The Music Class®.

The Pony Collection begins April 1, 2025

(cost for session is $210)

Mixed-age classes are developmentally appropriate and allow siblings to enjoy class together.

You will LOVE attending class each week with your child! Along with having a great time, you will learn how to enhance your child’s lifelong understanding and enjoyment of music.

Each session includes ten weeks of 45-minute classes once a week, digital music access and a songbook - and each session is all new music!

“Absolute best class I have done with my little one. Such a fun, friendly and safe environment. Jennifer is terrific, a wonderful teacher! She is great at sharing her knowledge of music and helping us parents understand what our kids are learning. We have enjoyed everything about this class. My only regret is that I found it so late in my maternity leave.”

Sunrise®

Pre-Piano Music and Movement

Ages 3 - 4 (by December 31)

The Sunrise program is a group music class for preschoolers with parent participation. Our Teddy Bears help teach the children rhythms and puppet friends Buzz, Buddy and Mellow guide children on their music journey and instruction with singing, and ear training.

MYC’s child-centred curriculum includes stories, songs, and games to ensure that all children feel and achieve a high level of engagement and success.

There are three blocks (or levels) to the Sunrise program: Sunrise Block 1, 2 and 3 - each 10 weeks in length.

Each block builds upon the last, so as the child's foundation in singing, rhythm and ear training builds and grows, so does the curriculum.

Next session begins April 1, 4, and 5, 2025

(cost for session is $210)

Once a child has finished either one, two or the full three blocks of Sunrise, they are naturally ready to move seamlessly into Sunshine 1 (SS1).

Each Sunrise session at MYC Victoria, students receive a workbook, rhythm instrument, finger puppet, and are also supplied with craft materials during class time.

The first session of the music year also includes a Sunrise backpack!

“Our kid has attended the MYC programs since starting in Sunrise in 2019. Great curriculum, lots of kid friendly study material which is included in the tuition fee and Excellent Teaching standards. Our kid is blessed to be part of this program. Thanks to Jennifer for making it very interesting for the students. As parents we are confident that our kid is progressing well.”

  • Not at all! One of the great things about music classes at MYC Victoria is that parents get to learn right alongside their child. Parents simply need to be prepared to participate and be engaged during classes.

  • Siblings of all ages are welcome in TMC classes. Second children from the same family may attend TMC classes at a discounted cost and siblings under 9 months of age on the first day of class may attend for free.
